Omaha Gives is an organization that comes together to support the work of non-profit organizations. The day for Omaha to give is on May 20th. You can donate as little as $1 and up to however much you’d like. The Set Me Project understands that this has been a stressful last couple of months, but they would really appreciate your help during this time!
The Set Me Free Project’s mission is to prevent and spread awareness about human trafficking. They spread awareness by going from school to school and talking about human trafficking and the warning signs. They engage the kids in fun but informative activities in order to educate children and parents. By discussing the warning signs of trafficking, The Set Me Free Project prevents human trafficking amongst the children that they reach. These children are more likely to recognize the red flags associated with trafficking and are thus better prepared. Instead of talking to a stranger who keeps “coincidentally” running into them, they’ll recognize this as a sign of human trafficking and try to cut ties with this person.
As ancient Greek author Aesop put it: “No Act of Kindness, No Matter How Small, is Ever Wasted.” So please, consider donating to The Set Me Free Project during Omaha Gives!
